New Clear Roads Research: Tracking Chloride Runoff Through Different Soils

Understanding how chloride deicers move, disperse in, or migrate through different types of soils is critical to helping maintenance managers identify sensitive areas and adjust chloride applications to mitigate environmental impacts.

Test results from this Clear Roads project were used to produce a fact sheet that can help agencies develop a localized maintenance treatment plan.
